Abstract
Behavior modification in the protozoan Stentor was investigated by using a classical conditioning procedure and conventional controls. The phenomenon of learning was not demonstrated in this experiment. Stentor became free-swimming quickly whenever the carmine US was presented, regardless of experimental conditions.
