Zusammenfassung

Ein 65-jähriger Patient verspürt 4 Tage nach komplikationsloser Pulmonalvenenisolation Schluckstörungen; weitere Symptome, insbesondere Fieber oder schweres Krankheitsgefühl bestehen nicht. Trotz prophylaktischer Therapie kommt es zur Entwicklung einer schweren Komplikation, die nur aufgrund engmaschiger Kontrolle frühzeitig erkannt und behandelt werden kann.

Abstract

A 65-year-old patient perceived dysphagia 4 days after uncomplicated pulmonary vein isolation; there were no other symptoms or complaints such as fever or malaise. Despite prophylactic treatment, a severe complication evolved which could be detected in time only by close control, allowing early treatment.
