Abstract

Na3CrF6 crystals with unique morphology were prepared by a chemical precipitation method. Through XRD and FESEM analysis, the shape characteristics of the Na3CrF6 crystals were studied. The results indicated that the terminal pH and concentration of Cr3+ and NaF encouraged the growth of spherical, truncated cuboid, concave cubic and cubic shape Na3CrF6 crystals. Molecular simulations revealed that shape formation was due to crystal bonding energy.
