Résumé
Le ballonnement abdominal est un symptôme trivial, invalidant pour le patient et dont l’origine est largement méconnue. Une production anormale de gaz est peu fréquente, en revanche, le transit digestif des gaz est souvent altéré chez ces patients. Plusieurs travaux récents ont suggéré qu’il existait une anomalie de certains réflexes viscérosomatiques qui pourraient aboutir à un relâchement de la paroi abdominale. Des techniques de rééducation ou de neurostimulation pourraient avoir un intérêt dans cette situation.
Abstract
Abdominal bloating is a common and disabling condition whose aetiology remains largely unknown. An abnormal production of wind is not very common, however its intestinal transit is often impaired in patients. A lot of recent research has suggested abnormal viscerosomatic reflexes, which may relax the abdominal wall. Physiotherapy or neurostimulation may represent interesting therapeutic options for this condition.
