Zusammenfassung
Während die Therapie der chronischen odontogenen Sinusitis maxillaris klaren Regeln folgt, kann die Behandlung einer akut purulenten odontogenen Sinusitis ein therapeutisches Dilemma darstellen. Eine oftmals notwendig werdende zusätzliche Schwerkraftdrainage über den unteren Nasengang oder eine Mund-Antrum-Verbindung kann Folgeschäden verursachen und die Ausbildung einer chronischen Form begünstigen. Es wird eine alternative temporäre Drainage vorgeschlagen, die diese Problematik umgehen könnte.
Abstract
While the treatment of chronic odontogenic maxillary sinusitis is based on clear rules the management of acute purulent sinusitis of dental origin may produce a therapeutic dilemma. An often necessary additional drainage through the inferior nasal meatus or an oroantral fistula can cause further damages and promote the formation of a chronic form. An alternative temporary drainage is suggested, which might avoid these problems.
