Abstract

The size distribution and average diameter of the particles formed in chitosan acetate solutions with/without silver nanoparticles coated with sodium albuminate were estimated. The formation of an albumin–chitosan polyelectrolyte complex on the nanoparticle surface after their introduction into the solution was established. Nanofibers and nonwoven samples (nanocoatings) with high biocidal properties were obtained on the basis of the macromolecular multicomponent system “chitosan acetate–sodium albuminate–silver nanoparticles” by electrospinning. The antibacterial activity of these materials was tested on standard test strains of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
