Abstract
Significant areas of terrestrial, wetland, and aquatic ecosystems globally have been destroyed or greatly degraded, greatly impacting ecosystem services, most critical to human well-being. Ecological restoration can begin the process of recovering these ecosystems. The Primer of Ecological Restoration (Holl 2020) succinctly covers the ecological principles, project planning and management, sociology, and policies of ecological restoration. External links to the book’s website substantially complements the text, which is intended for an introductory college-level course on the topic and for practitioners.
