“Odyssey” complements “A Biotic View of Land” to bolster the case for a more prominent place for Leopold

Abstract

In “A Biotic View of Land” Aldo Leopold may have anticipated the concept of enegy flow in ecosystem ecology. As Gene Likens notes, in “Odyssey” he may also have anticipated the concept of nutrient cycles in ecosystem ecology.
