Abstract
A campaign manager, an economist, and a data scientist walk into a bar after their candidate delivered a new stump speech. The campaign manager yells excitedly, “Did you hear that crowd? I have a great feeling about this. Everyone, next round’s on me!” The economist adds, “That new education initiative is sure to fill that tech jobs vacancy gap. I’m sure this’ll also do wonders for our state’s productivity numbers!” Without looking up from her laptop, the data scientist sighs, then as the bearer of bad news informs the group, “I just plugged in the polling results that came out today and integrated it with my models.
