Interactive Storytelling (ICIDS 2021)

Abstract

We present the latest iteration of Betwixt, an interactive narrative that combines therapeutic techniques with fantasy storytelling to help everyday users strengthen their mental resilience. In this paper, we highlight several features relevant to interactive narrative that appear to differentiate Betwixt from other interactive narratives for mental health based on preliminary user feedback. Future work will seek to build on the core Betwixt design and strengthen understanding of how to best strengthen mental resilience via digital intervention.
