Abstract
The scaphoid is the most commonly fractured carpal bone. Fractures are classified based on their location, with certain patterns known to have increased risk of nonunion due to the tenuous blood supply. Prompt recognition of this injury is necessary, as delay in treatment may result in degenerative changes to the wrist.
