Abstract
The term acneiform eruptions denotes conditions which resemble acne. The extent to which things look alike depends on the knowledge and experience of the observer. Without an explicit definition, the subject of acneiform eruptions becomes smothered in a semantic smog. Acne rosacea (an outdated term) or acne keloidalis nuchae have only a phonetic connection to acne. We distinguish acne from acneiform eruptions according to the following criteria.
