Abstract

Phoenix, the mythical prototype of the firebirds, is immortal. After a staged self-immolation, it renews itself from its ashes. What does it look like? Where does it live, and how old can it become? How does it manage to renew itself over and over again? Which birds are equated to the Phoenix? What are the tasks of the firebirds in their habitats, on the Nile, on the Ganges, and on all other hotspots in the world? What is driving Phoenix and its incarnations across the globe?
