Abstract
The entities in this taxon have as a common feature severe anxiety associated with the perception that the genitals are retracting into the body. As culturally elaborated syndromes, members of this taxon are found most frequently in Southeast Asia and in China. But, as is true in the case of Startle Matching and Sleep Paralysis, one regularly encounters isolated instances which seem to parallel the culturally elaborated cases but which occur in areas geographically and culturally remote.
