Comparative Assessment of Technical and Economic Indicators of Mass-Exchange Packing Made of Polymer Materials used in Drying Towers in the Production of Sulfuric Acid

  • Published:
Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Aims and scope

Mass-exchange random packing made of polymer materials have a longer service life than mass-exchange packing of a similar design made of ceramics, thereby reducing the frequency of repairs and increasing the safety of mass-exchange apparatus for the production of sulfuric acid. The article presents a comparative analysis of technical and economic indicators of irregular packing made of Raschig rings with diameters of 50 mm and 75 mm, which allows us to reasonably choose the most rational packing material for the drying apparatus of the drying and absorption unit of sulfuric acid production.
