Abstract
Regional anaesthesia of the neck was first introduced in order to evaluate the neurological status of the patient during surgical intervention on the carotid artery and during cross-clamping. Cervical plexus block provides safe and effective anaesthesia for all unilateral neck surgical interventions such as CEA (carotid endo-arterectomy), allowing continuous check of cerebral function and perfusion.
