Summary

The Rb86-uptake was investigated in the seven different lobes of the rat liver, in order to see differences in the intrahepatic blood distribution. It was found that the blood flow in the processus papillaris anterior and in the processus papillaris was significantly higher than in the rest of the liver. Therefore, in physiological and pharmacological experiments in rats concerning liver blood flow the radioactivity in the total liver should be measured. A higher Rb86-uptake/1 g liver, representing more accurately the real percentage of blood flow delivered to the liver, would be obtained and the variance of the method reduced.
