Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of chemical science Aims and scope

Summary

  1. 1.

The IR spectra of triphenyloxonium, diphenylchloronium, diphenylbromonium, and diphenyliodonium compounds were investigated in the region of 750-400 cm−1.

  2. 2.

Differences were established in the spectral characteristics of triphenyloxonium and diphenylhalonium compounds with respect to the corresponding initial monohalobenzenes or diphenyl oxide.

  3. 3.

These data give no basis for ascribing a different molecular structure to borofluorides and halides of diphenylhaloniums.
