Thermodynamics of black holes

Abstract

The thermodynamic approach is used to investigate the properties of black holes. The presence of surface gravitation makes it possible to introduce a coefficient of surface tension of black holes and “capillary” fluctuations of the horizon due to this surface tension; this makes it possible to find the temperature dependence of the surface entropy and the energy of the black holes. It is shown that there is a critical temperature at which a black hole explodes.
