Summary

A serial reconstruction ofPyramimonas gelidicola McFadden, Moestrup andWetherbee has revealed a large reticulated mitochondrion branching throughout the cell. The possibility of single mitochondria in other members of thePrasinophyceae and the uniformity of the morphology of this organelle within the class is discussed.
