Thermal studies on trans-dichlorotetramminecobalt(III) complexes

Abstract

Thermal studies have been carried out on trans-[Co(NH3)4Cl2]X · YH2O complexes (whereX=IO3, BrO3, NO3, or NO2 andY=0, 1, or 2) in an effort to find cases of trans to cis isomerization as occurs for the iodate. No evidence of isomerization was found for any of the other compounds. The complexes decompose in a series of steps and these reactions have been identified and kinetic parameters determined.

Zusammenfassung

An trans-[Co(NH3)4Cl2]X · YH2O Komplexen (mitX=IO3, BrO3, NO3, NO2 undY=0, 1 oder 2) wurden thermische Untersuchungen durchgeführt, um Fälle einer Isomerisierung von trans zu cis zu finden, wie sie beim Jodat vonstattengeht. Bei den anderen Verbindungen konnte die Isomerisierung nicht nachgewiesen werden. Die Komplexe zerfallen in einer Reihe von Schritten, für die die Reaktionen identifiziert und die kinetischen Parameter bestimmt wurden.

Термическое исследо вание комплексов транс-[Co(NH3)4Cl2]X·YH2O, гдеX=103, BrO3, NO3 или NO2, aY=0, 1 и 2, было пред принято с целью обнаружения случаев транс-цисизомеризац ии, наблюдаемой для иода та. Для других соедине ний не было обнаружено такой изомеризации. Компле ксы разлагаются в нес колько стадий и эти реакции б ыли идентифицирован ы и определены их кинет ические параметры.
