Summary
The analysis of the anharmonic contributions to the vacancy formation volume in metals, partially developed in part III of this series, is now accomplished with particular emphasis on the high-temperature limit of a second-order anharmonic term, not yet considered before. This term requires the knowledge of structure-dependent dimensionless coefficients, whose values for b.c.c. and f.c.c. lattices are explicitly given.
