Isoxazolo (7,8 -d) flavones

Abstract

A few isoxazolo (7, 8-d) flavones have been synthesised from 7-hydroxy-8-carbonyl flavones by preparing the oximes and cyclising them with sulphuric acid. The ultraviolet, infrared and mass spectra of some of these compounds have been recorded. The antibacterial activity of these derivatives has also been evaluated.
