Samenvatting

‘Je moet me niet omhelzen,’ zegt mijn man als hij thuiskomt. Ik was het niet van plan; het is vijf uur ’s ochtends en hij heeft me uit bed gebeld. Het duurt even voordat ik zie dat hij niet zijn blauwe overhemd aanheeft, maar een operatiehemd. Hij is ergens van een trap gevallen en dwars door de glazen deur gedonderd die onder aan die trap op hem wachtte.
