Influence of Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes on Thermal Expansion of Water

  • Published:
International Journal of Thermophysics Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Abstract

This article reports the results of an investigation of the influence of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) functionalized with carboxyl groups on PVT data of water. Specifically, the impact of an aqueous suspension of SWCNTs (maximum concentration of 3.0 mg \(\cdot \) mL\(^{-1}\)) on the isobaric thermal expansion of water in the temperature and pressure ranges of 293 K to 342 K and 0.1 MPa to 152.3 MPa, respectively, was investigated. The obtained results are discussed in terms of different structures of water confined inside and outside SWCNTs.
