Edmundo R. M. Madeira is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Computing of State University of Campinas, Brazil. He received both his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, 1991, and M.Sc. in Computer Science, 1985, from State University of Campinas, Brazil. He was the General Chair of the IEEE 1st International Workshop on Mobility Aware Technologies and Applications (MATA) 2004. His areas of interest include Management of Distributed Systems and Networks, Fault Tolerant Distributed Computing and Quality of Service for the Internet.

Thomas Magedanz is a full professor in the electrical engineering and computer sciences faculty at the Technical University of Berlin, Germany, and is the Principal Investigator for all research pertaining to next generation networks. In addition, he is director of the “3G beyond” division of the Fraunhofer Institute FOKUS, which also provides a national Next Generation Network test-bed in Germany. For the past 18 years he has been working in the convergence field of fixed and mobile telecommunications, the Internet and information technologies, which resulted in many industry driven R&D projects centered around Next Generation Service Delivery platforms. He has published more than 200 technical papers/articles. He is a senior member of the IEEE, and on the editorial board of several journals.

Petre Dini received a B.S. and M.Eng. in Computer Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of Timisoara, Romania, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Montreal, Canada. He is currently with Cisco Systems, Inc., USA.
