There is interesting and relevant research in artificial intelligence and robotics that provides support for the idea that the participatory, non-ego-centric or anticipatory mode of interaction is not necessarily a human capacity but can also be generated in the interaction between robots (see, for example, Birk 1998; Riegler 2001).
