Abstract

The mallet thumb is an injury to the thumb that is relatively rare and it may be missed as a diagnosis. There is no consensus as to how to confirm the diagnosis, nor is it clear whether conservative or operative treatment is superior. We present a case report discussing our diagnostic workup and treatment. Furthermore, we emphasize the importance to recognize this specific injury.
