Abstract
The present paper is a description of the Electronic Information System for the Meat Industry set up in all bovine slaughter plants in Uruguay. This is the system used for mandatory Industrial Traceability, which together with compulsory Animal Traceability enables the country to have a unique traceability system in the world; from the fields to your plate.

The present work represents the summary of 15 years of work conducted by a multidisciplinary team from INAC which has been in charge of the development of the SEIIC and the Industrial Traceability System and has also been responsible for its integration with the Livestock Traceability System.
