Summary
Pain is a common phenomenon among patients with malignant disease. Acupuncture combined with conventional medicine optimizes the efficacy of the overall pain management significantly. A multi-dimensional approach is the key feature in achieving optimal care, which is simple and effectively accomplished through acupuncture. Recent studies showed promising acupuncture protocols that can be broadly applied if modified correctly. Choosing an integrative approach might therefore be an optimal strategy in the management of cancer pain.
