Polypores from an Atlantic rainforest area in southeast Brazil: pileate species

  • Published:
Brazilian Journal of Botany Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Abstract

During a survey of polypores in a Brazilian Atlantic rainforest fragment from Parque Estadual da Cantareira, São Paulo state, Brazil, 35 pileate species previously unregistered were found and identified, increasing to 52 the number of pileate species cited for this area. Abundisporus subflexibilis, Amauroderma praetervisum, Antrodia malicola, Antrodiella semisupina, Flabellophora parva, Skeletocutis roseola, Trametes membranacea, and Tyromyces atroalbus are new records from São Paulo state. Herbaria revision and taxonomic reevaluation of some records previously published for the area are discussed. Full descriptions, comments about morphology of the new records, and a complete identification key for the 44 confirmed species occurring in the locality are provided.
