Abstract
This work concerns controlling the basin erosion phenomenon of a vibrating system driven by a source with limited power supply (non-ideal excitation). To achieve this goal, a linear vibration absorber (LVA) is proposed. The effect of this passive control method is to shift the erosion profiles towards larger values of the voltage applied in the armature of the DC motor, which is a control parameter of the non-ideal system. Numerical results show that this procedure can be a good alternative to increase the dynamic integrity in a mechanical system with more than one degree of freedom.
