Improvement of the accuracy of the time position estimation of the gravity center of an analog signal on the basis of discrete samples

Abstract

The method of the interpolation measurement of the time instants of an event occurrence based on the estimation of the gravity center of a bell-shaped signal by spectral coefficients is presented. It is shown that the use of linear algorithms for estimating the spectral coefficients of a regression model allows for the picosecond accuracy of the measurements of the time intervals. The accuracy of the method is illustrated by computer simulation results.
