Abstract

The orderChromatialesconsists of unicellular Gram-negative bacteria belonging to theGammaproteobacteria. Cells are spherical, vibrioid, spiral, or rod shaped. Multiply by binary fission, motile by flagella or nonmotile; some contain gas vesicles.
