Abstract

Acute liver disease may be due to various causes and different mechanisms. Although the contribution of imaging to diagnosis is low in paracetamol (acetaminophen) overdose (the most common cause of acute liver failure in Western countries) and viral hepatitis, imaging, and especially CT, plays an important role in diagnosis of hemorrhagic hepatic lesions or acute vascular disorders.
