Abstract
An analysis of experimental results on electric and thermal hysteresis of orthorhombic TaS3 is given in the frame of a deformable charge density wave model. We discuss in detail i/ the relaxation of the deformation created by a sudden temperature change: ii/ the reversal of the polarity of the electric field induced CDW deformation upon reversal of current; iii/ time delayed switching between ohmic and CDW conducting states. These phenomena are shown to be related.
