The Bainaimiao Cu deposit in Inner Mongolia, China: A possible orogenic-type Cu deposit

Abstract

The Bainaimiao Cu deposit, Inner Mongolia, occurs in the Central Asia Orogen, where most gold deposits have been considered previously to be of the orogenic-type. Previous studies also considered the Bainaimiao Cu deposit to be of volcanogenic or porphyry-type. However, available geochemical data and our field observation do not support these views. Instead, they suggest Bainaimiao to be an orogenic-type Cu deposit.
