Abstract

We have implemented a rule-based expert system for MACSYMA. Although the system has been written with MACSYMA in mind, we must stress that it is not intimately tied to this particular computer algebra package. We feel that it would not be a difficult task to port this system to other computer algebra systems such as Maple, SMP or Mathematica.
