Abstract

It is evident that document is the central concept in any archive, and the basic task is to make these documents searchable and retrievable. Textual documents can be full text indexed therefore they can be searched with the help of very efficient search engines like Google, however non-textual documents as still images, moving images, sounds or mixed audiovisual documents require associated textual information, metadata to make search possible.
