Fatigue and Fracture Reliability Engineering

Part of the book series: Springer Series in Reliability Engineering ((RELIABILITY))

Abstract

This chapter outlines a new technique to address the paucity of data in determining fatigue life and damage. Novel confidence level formula and lowest number criterion of sampling are presented for estimating safe life, dealing with small sample numbers of data. New important theoretical formula are derived and addressed following discipline system, and some fundamental conceptions and definitions such as reliability level, confidence level, correlative coefficient, etc., are stated or noted.
