Telenursing

Abstract

In Brazil, the development of telenursing started in the year 2000, with the pioneer work of the Study and Research Group on Communication in the Nursing Process, GEPECOPEn. This research group at the University of São Paulo (USP) at Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing, EERP, a WHO Collaborating Centre for Nursing Research Development, has worked on projects that can optimize physical, technological, and human resources in health promotion actions at the interface between research, teaching, and permanent – in-class and distance – education by using communication technologies.
