Abstract

In the furore which followed Mr Benn’s recent ‘nationalisation without compensation’ speech one embittered Labour MP was quoted as saying that ‘Now we [the plp] will have to do to him what the Tories did with Powell, isolate him to the point where he excludes himself from the party.’
