Abstract

From October 1967 there were definite indications that I was recovering. I became obsessed with the idea that I must never have a relapse. On one occasion I told Dr Goldblatt of my fear of recurrent mental illness. He assured me he would continue the psychotherapy until he was confident I was better. He hoped I would become stronger in my mind than I had ever been, so that I would be less likely to suffer from a mental illness again.
