Abstract

Kidnapping and extortion have grown and will go on growing, as they give a high yield at a low risk both to criminals and political terrorists; also because technological developments are making it more difficult to obtain large amounts of money by robbery than by drug trafficking, computer fraud and extortion by threats to life.
