But as the decade moved on, I found myself increasingly involved in the affairs of the profession after having become, in about 1955–6, a director of Counsel’s Chambers Limited. Barristers’ chambers had become virtually unobtainable in Phillip Street and we built Went-worth Chambers, and later demolished old Selbourne and incorporated the new Selbourne Chambers as a mirror half of the Wentworth building. We moved into Wentworth in 1957. Barwick was the Chairman.
