Abstract

Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) can be reduced to their driest form by defining them as “systematically developed statements to assist the practitioner and the patient in making decisions about appropriate health care for specific clinical circumstances”. Introduced with such excitement ts is not surprising that CPGs have tended to become viewed as cumbersome and a hindrance rather than an essential aid to clinical practice.
