Abstract
So how does one assess the needs of a system before seeking a solution in the market? The most valuable step is to create a requirements document that depicts the needs of the system you are seeking. It also provides a platform for the businesses affected by the software solution to agree-to-agree before starting the process of selection. The first aspect of understanding business requirements is the tiers of software development.
The life cycle of software development continues to evolve, particularly with the advent of the object paradigm. The life cycle of development inevitably affects the way analysis and design is accomplished. Indeed, it only seems natural that the rapid changes in software methodologies would be accompanied by parallel development in analysis and design. Unfortunately, such is not the case, and the advances in software development continue to overshadow the importance of analysis and design.
