Abstract

Multidetector row computed tomography (CT), with its capability of 4D dynamic evaluation of cardiac valves, allows for functional and morphological assessment of the aortic valve. This chapter describes the background and techniques for evaluation of the aortic valve by CT, with an emphasis on implications for use of CT for transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).
