Abstract
The need to recognize Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) risk factors at an early age is becoming increasingly important. Serum cholesterol has long been known to be a major independent risk factor for CAD in adults (1). More recently, the level of serum triglycerides has been incriminated as a CAD risk factor independent of cholesterol (2) although the evidence for independence is not conclusive (3).
