Abstract

Transposition refers to anomalies in which the great arteries are literally transposed with respect to the morphological right and left ventricles, i.e., the aorta rises from the right ventricle and the pulmonary artery from the left. Throughout this presentation the terms right and left refer to morphology not spatial relation, except the terms &#201C;D&#201D; (dextro-) and ā€œLā€ (laevo-) which do refer to spatial position.
